Sunday saw the Holmes Cup reliability ride taking in Blundeston, Haddiscoe, Loddon, Ditchingham, Bungay, Rumburgh, Redisham, Brampton, Mumford, Lowestoft and Oulton.

The majority of riders got round the course with no problems, although the wind that was present did not really offer any help.

The result of the event was that VC Baracchi claimed eight riders and Great Yarmouth CC claimed 35 riders.

Up until Sunday GYCC were nine points adrift, but after the riders numbers were counted, the deficit had gone, making the overall result for the Holmes Cup for this year a win for Great Yarmouth CC.

Also on Sunday was the Godric CC Hill Climb. Jonny Hawes was GYCC’s only representative on the hard course based at Stoke Holy Cross, just outside Norwich. A hard slog up the hill saw him complete it in 2:38.2. Morris Bacon won the event in 2:16.3.
