Ray Urry has put pen to paper to commit to Great Yarmouth Town by signing a contract with the club.

After an impressive season, which only started in November, Urry, 17, went on to pick up awards for supporters’ player of the year, most promising player and won the national county under-18 championship with Norfolk.

The club have recognised that quick progress and potential by naming him as the first player to be contracted since 2013-14.

On signing for the club Urry commented: “Mase and Sinny (Adam Mason and Martin Sinclair) have shown great faith in me in such a short time and despite interest from other clubs I felt it was important to show loyalty and kick on in with a great group of players. The club have been excellent and now I can’t wait for the new season”

The club also announced that goalkeeper Kingsley Barnes has but pen to paper at the Wellesley along with striker Orren Oliver who scored 19 in 25 starts for Blofield United last season.

Josh Ford, 17. decided to move to Norwich United but the Bloaters made an immediate move to bring in left back Kierron Rose from the Planters.

Town have confirmed Bostik League Dereham Town as a friendly on Friday, July 13.
