Great Yarmouth Town and Gorleston resume their pre-season preparations this weekend after last weekend’s mixed fortunes.
Gorleston drew 2-2 with Harleston Town, while the Bloaters saw their game at home to Hullbridge Sports scrapped because of the conditions.
Tomorrow, the Greens have a trip to Bungay, while Yarmouth play their last pre-season friendly when Norfolk Senior Cup winners Wroxham visit The Wellesley (kick-off 3pm).
Admission prices £3 adults and £2 concessions.
The Bloaters approach the game after a tough pre-season campaign but with only one defeat against them and will be looking forward to the opening day of the new campaign, on Saturday August 8.
As always for Yarmouth, the whole of August’s league fixtures will be played away from The Wellesley, starting with the visit to Braintree Town Reserves (who play at Long Melford).
Norwich United will be the visitors on Saturday, August 15 in the Extra Preliminary round of the FA Cup before the Bloaters are on their travels again with trips to Haverhill Borough and March Town United.
It’s a tough start to the season, but a lot of groundwork has been put in by the new management team and the players, and a lot of questions have been asked and answered.
Acle United, were brought down to earth after an impressive 2-1 win over Swaffham Town, when they lost 6-0 to Thurlow Nunn double winners Norwich United at Plantation Park.
Their final pre-season friendly is on Tuesday at Bridewell Lane against Loddon United (6.45pm).
The Reserves continued their good pre-season form with a 2-0 victory over Hemsby at Bridewell Lane, the goals coming from Bartley and Colk. The team are looking to fit in another friendly before their season opens on August 14.
The ladies made it two wins from two friendlies, when they beat Wymondham 4-2 (Burton 2, Larkin, Hooper).
