Great Yarmouth Town are facing up to two games in the space of four days as they attempt to get their Thurlow Nunn Premier Division season back on track.

Having taken just three points from their previosu four league fixtures, the Bloaters travel to Stanway Rovers tomorrow before what should be an intriguing home clash with Fakenham Town on Tuesday evening.

The Bloaters had a wasted journey to Clipbush Park on October 10 when behind-the-scenes issues prompted the home players to refuse to play.

The Ghosts have regrouped well since that debacle, moving off the bottom of the table with two straight wins, and having tasted victory since the call-off the hosts will doubtless be looking to make a point at The Wellesley.

Great Yarmouth wasted a good chance to get back to winning ways last Saturday when they let a two goal lead slip to draw 2-2 at home with a Long Melford side who had been reduced to 10 men and got their equaliser from a seemingly offisde position.

A dejected joint-manager Adam Mason said: “I often talk to the players about small margins and these include decisions by the officials. People will point fingers at the linesman for not giving a clear offside but ultimately having been two ahead against 10 men we stopped and that is disappointing. It’s another point on the board but it feels like a defeat if I am honest.”

In midweek the Bloaters were beaten 1-0 at Stowmarket, with joint-manager Martin Sinclair commenting: “We have come to a very strong side and competed well and perhaps could have taken a point if we had taken a chance near the end. While we are pleased with our workrate and performance we are disappointed at the goal we conceded. We looked stronger and worked harder tonight and hopefully we can take some encouragement from that performance.”
