Great Yarmouth Town travelled to March for their third consecutive away fixture and in doing so maintained their record breaking start to the season.

The Bloaters returned with another away win and are still to concede a league goal. You have to go all the way back to 1978-79 to find the last time The Bloaters won their first three league games.

Yarmouth started the game brightly with an unchanged side from the previous week’s victory.

With Cullumbine, Mitch Forbes and Roots all looking dangerous the Bloaters caused the Hares some concern with penetrating runs and attempts on target. The first clear-cut chance, however, fell to the hosts. From a half cleared corner March struck the post and then the bar twice as a combination of some fine defending, goalkeeping and luck prevented them opening the scoring.

This served as a wake up call for the Bloaters and they regained their confidence to take the lead on the stroke of half time.

Forbes dropped deep to pick up the ball in midfield, turned his man and sent a perfect ball through to Lee Roots. Roots collected the ball and curled his shot home to give the visitors the lead with his first goal for the club.

The second half was just as closely contested as the first with both sides looking dangerous on the counter-attack.

Two long balls caught the Bloaters back line out and on both occasions March could have equalised but for some good work by Hembling.

At the other end the home goalkeeper was having a fantastic game to deny Yarmouth on a number of occasions.

As the game moved into the last half an hour Yarmouth brought on Sean Perfect. Perfect soon had an impact with his tricky runs and direct play. On 73 minutes he claimed his second goal in as many games as a substitute and in doing so sealed the win for Yarmouth.

His long-range, right-footed effort caught a deflection which was enough to carry it over the unlucky home goalkeeper sparking wild celebration from the Yarmouth players, bench and their amazing travelling supporters.

Credit to the whole Yarmouth side for a solid performance in which every member of the squad again played their part.
