Ely City 3, Gorleston 1
Gorleston's promotion hopes were dented with defeat at table-topping Ely City on Saturday.
After a scoreless first half the Greens fell behind to two quick goals shortly after the restart.
Record goal scorer Gary Ingram pulled one back for the Greens after a concerted attacking spell.
For a time it looked like Gorleston could get back on level terms before the Robins broke away to make it
3-1.
It was the second of two tough away games for the Greens following a notable 3-2 win at Diss.
Kyle Howell replaced the injured Adam Thurtle in central defence with Louis Turner standing in for Howell at right-back.
One of five teams still in contention for promotion, Gorleston face another tough Ridgeons Division One away fixture at Saffron Walden tomorrow.
