The 1,000 top prize in the Yarmouth Championship final went south of the county border on Saturday night when Suffolk-trained Ard Up lived up to the favourite's billing.
Running from trap five, Ard Up was backed down from 5/4 to 1/1 favourite with the Stadium bookmakers in the festive showpiece.
Trained by Albert Dale at his Nacton kennels near Ipswich, Ard Up made a slow start, but was up to full speed to take advantage of crowding on the first bend and gain the lead.
The new champion held off the late challenge of Aghaburren Star, trained by Jodie Bodily at Robert Bothway's Fundenhall kennels, who finished second.
Third place went to Lughill Sammy, trained by Julie Green at her Yaxham base, near Dereham.
