Halvergate CC maintain excellent start to new season
Halvergate Cricket Club remain unbeaten in Norfolk League Division Two East after a third win of the season at Somerleyton and Blundeston on Saturday.
Perry Kelf won the toss and decided to bat on a track that looked like it would favour the bowlers.
James Howley (4) was bowled in the first over and a 40-run partnership with Kelf was broken in the 11th over when Steve Utting was caught for 28.
Kelf (19), Luke Hannant (6) and Sam Utting (8) moved the score along to 85 for 5 from 21 overs. Halvergate then lost Michael Handley (20), Stuart Willimott (13), Danny Cook (0) and Graham Morris (0).
Adam Pitchers, with a solid 26, and Graham Harrop (1 not out) saw Halvergate post what looked to be a competitive total 143 all out off 40.2 overs.
