Pub On the Shrubs Yarmouth Saturday League

After the first month of the season Haven Bridge United are in pole position in Division One.

They faced a tough trip to unbeaten MK Shrubs, who will also be challenging themselves this season. However despite a close-fought game the visitors took the spoils with a 2-1 win.

Catfield sit second after they triumphed 5-0 at home to luckless Great Yarmouth International who with there football pedigree will surely gain points before long.

Another side who recorded a 5-0 win was Albion Tramway who defeated Bohemians by that score. This was Albion’s first win of the season and sets them up nicely for this week’s all league Junior Cup second round tie on the Magdalen against MK Shrubs.

This will be a close match and could go either way. Finally at Halvergate South Yarmouth were looking to build on last week’s win against International as they faced Caister Roma.

The visitors reaped the reward for some good performances of late with a 5-2 win.

Caister United A lead Division Two after beating neighbours Caister Roma Reserves 2-1 at Allendale. Previous leaders Wanderers suffered a setback as they drew 1-1 at Grosvenor Casino. Congratulations to them on earning their first point in the league as a club. Yarmouth Peelers missed the chance to move joint top as they were held 1-1 at Prostar Windows. MK Shrubs Reserves sit fourth three points off the lead but have a game in hand as they defeated Filby & Runham away 5-2. The league wishes all our first division teams the best of luck in the Norfolk Junior Cup tomorrow. Please note all games kick off at 2pm.

The league’s transfer window is now open and all clubs must transfer through Mick Saunders who will let the FA know of the transfer – Ryan Starkey.
