Caister High School are celebrating after the boys' U14 football team clinched both the district and county titles.

Caister defeated Notre Dame High 2-1 in a thrilling County Cup final at Plantation Park, home of Norwich United FC, and followed up by capturing the District Cup, beating Lynn Grove High School 4-0.

These titles are the highlight to an incredible season for Caister, who remain unbeaten since September.

The U14 team won the county title having seen off much-fancied opponents all around the county, travelling to King's Lynn and Thetford en route to the final.

Caister's cup hero was Keegan Middleton who netted two clinical goals in the county final, the second a delicate lob over the keeper, but their success was built on a solid back four with Martin Barnes and Rhys Jones instrumental in victory.

Team manager Chris Weight was hugely proud of the boys' achievements, saying: “This has been a dream season and the boys deserve every credit. “They have worked incredibly hard since September to achieve their goals, never complaining, always supporting each other and always raising their game when needed. They have been fantastic and richly deserve the rewards.”
