Acle fired a Sterry Cup warning as they smashed eight goals past rock-bottom Wells in the Anglian Combination Premier Division.
There was a hat-trick for Adam Hipperson, with the other goals scored by Phillip Palmer, Nathan Thompson, Daniel Foreman, and Ross Goodwin. Josh Barzey replied for Wells.
Acle sit in fourth place but have games in hand – including two on the leaders Cromer, who beat Wymondham Town 6-1, with eight points to make up.
Tomorrow Acle will be hoping for a repeat show in the return leg at Wells.
