It’s sure to be another action-packed night of stock car racing this Sunday at the Yarmouth Stadium (5.30) with an all contact meeting featuring four different formulas. The Historic Stock Cars return to the raceway in replica cars which would have been competing some 40 years ago.
Making his debut in the class is Caister’s Lee Cowley who has spent most of the winter months building his Triumph 2000 in his back garden the way many of the sports pioneers did back in the 60s and 70s.
The bright orange car certainly looks the part and with Lee’s knowledge of the track he could well be one to watch.
Two similar yet totally different open wheeled classes also take to the track, the regular Superstox are back, where at their opening meeting at the circuit 19 drivers provided plenty of action and a different winner in all three races, Shaun Brooker winning the final.
It’s a welcome return for the Rebels. These scaled down Ford Populars with their 850cc Reliant engines can match the speed of the much larger Superstox. Being so lightweight and with very little suspension handling can often cause issues during the course of a race. Wa good grid of cars is expected as they are in action at Ipswich the night before. With banger racing too this promises to be a very eventful night.
