Historic moment for Cowley at Yarmouth Stadium

Caister's Lee Cowley took to his new formula like a duck to water at Yarmouth Stadium on Sunday.
Despite an almighty hailstorm just prior to start time a good field of historic stock cars took to the track and in very tricky conditions Cowley managed a very creditable seventh place in his opening heat.
Sadly mechanical problems set in after this but Cowley remained optimistic about his new venture, writes GRAHAM UTTING.
He is already looking forward to his next outing at the Aldershot Raceway, Hampshire.
The Superstox were also racing in good numbers and once again Shaun Brooker took victory in the evening’s final continuing his impressive run of form of late.
This was his fourth final win of the season so far.
The meeting didn’t start in the best way for Brooker who was forced to retire from the opening heat with a snapped throttle cable before the race even got under way.
However, a master in the wet, he was soon back in action and in the final he made the most of the conditions. With a large crash claiming five cars very early on, he steadily made his way through the field on the way to the chequered flag.
