SWIMMING: On Saturday at the UEA a team from Great Yarmouth SC took part in the City of Norwich Open Meet.

Pride of place went to Honey Harvey swimming in the 9/u 50m backstroke. Against strong opposition she held off all attempts to pass her and came home for an excellent first place and a gold medal.

She also gained a second place in the fly and two fourth places in freestyle and 100 individual medley.

Lauren James continued to shine with strong swims for second places in the U11 100 IM, 100m breaststroke, and a third in 50m breaststroke.

Atlanta Jarvis did well for her third place in the 200m breaststroke, as did Alexander Goff for a third in the U12 50m backstroke, and a fourth in 100m IM.

Joseph Windsor Freeman held his position well but was just pushed into third pace at the finish in the U11 fly.

It was good to see Brandon Tennant taking part in the U17 age group, and his reward was a third place in the 50m freestyle.

In a good-standard gala, fourth places came from Jenna Martin 50m backstroke, Samuel Skuse 50m breaststroke, Billy Heseltine 50m backstroke.

Fifth places went to Jenna Utting 100 IM, 200m breaststroke; Amelia Driver 100m breaststroke and Hannah Ingham 50m backstroke.

Also taking part and swimming well were Kioni Broomfield and Natasha Mansfield Holly.
