ACLE and visitors Norwich & Coltishall Wanderers each earned 14 points from their Norfolk Alliance Premier Division clash. Adam Mundford's maiden century at this level helped Acle to third in the table.

On a beautiful day at Bridewell Lane, the match was sponsored by Freddie Colk.

Wanderers won the toss and elected to bat on what looked a belter of a track.

However, Acle were able to make early inroads when a mix-up between Ponder and Stebbings resulted in the latter being run out for nought.

Wanderers' overseas star Diljon came in at three and looked good, while Ponder continued to crab around.

Enter young Tom Nudd, who made an immediate impact, as he has done on many occasions.

Firstly he bowled the impressive Diljon (47) and then proceeded to remove Steward and then Ponder. The young seamer was in fine form but was taken out of the attack after six overs due to ECB bowling restrictions.

Acle worked hard to contain the visitors but bowled too many loose deliveries and with Young (42) and Elliott (37) taking full advantage it was left to Nudd again who returned for his second spell at the death and picked up another three wickets and Wanderers finished on 233-10.

Acle began their chase in steady fashion, although when Huggins and the unfortunate Nel fell cheaply it was left to Adam Munford and Tom Wilson to rebuild the innings.

The pair pushed the ball around the ground nicely, collecting singles and gradually rebuilding and increasing the run rate.

With the score on 128, Wilson was caught on the boundary for 28. Acle then suffered a mini collapse as Handley was caught shortly after and Paul Munford fell lbw to a ball bowled by Young that looked to be going down the leg side.

Enter Danny Carter who joined up with Munford and made an immediate impact.

The required run rate had increased to 10 an over and Carter began dispatching the Wanderers bowlers to all areas of the park.

Munford provided solid support and kept the score ticking and in doing so achieved his maiden Premier League hundred.

The onslaught from Carter was a delight to watch although in the end not quite enough. He was caught on the last ball of the innings for an impressive 64, and with Munford finishing on 110 not out, Acle had to settle for 226 for 6.

Next, Acle travel to the seaside when they visit Lowestoft.
