Last Tuesday, schools from across the East Norfolk School Sports Partnership came together at Cliff Park High School to compete in time trials for the honour of representing the partnership at the indoor rowing county final at UEA.

Run in partnership by David Wynne, British rowing community sports coach and Stuart Brunton-Douglas, competition manager, children raced on 'ergos' aka indoor rowing machines against British rowing Olympic targets. The best individuals from Cliff Park and Lynn Grove high schools made up the East Norfolk Partnership team.

The competition also had a fun element with a team relay.

Stuart Brunton-Douglas, competition manager said: “The use of ergos is just one of innovative ways in which schools are increasing competitive opportunities for children and young people.

“Virtual competitions and the Concept2 Schools Indoor Rowing League are a great way to track your own improvement and performances against other schools.”
