AFTER having to rearrange the Coltishall Jaguars Runners 10k after the heavy rain of last month, the event finally took place on Sunday.

It was unusual running in the afternoon, along the lanes around Frettenham on a slightly chilly and windy day.

Five Great Yarmouth and District Athletic Club members took part, with Sean Jermy coming in 27th place with a fast time of 39min 45sec. This was a quicker time than the Great Yarmouth 10k last month.

He was followed by Chris Gay who had already run the Ditchingham cross- country in the same morning. He finished in 46:50 in 76th position, a great effort.

First lady home was Maureen England, coming third in her age group for the Norfolk County Championships 10k in 62:01 (129th).

Elaine Haggarty, recovering from a cold, ran well to record 66:23, with Denise Goodwin in 67:33 in 132nd place.

These three ladies were placed second veteran team in the county championships and each received a silver medal.

Next race: Norwich Half Marathon.
