Gorleston swim star Jessica-Jane Applegate has Montreal on her mind after achieving three qualifying times which are her ticket to this summer’s IPC World Disabled championship in Canada in August.
An added bonus for the 16-year-old Paralympics golden girl is that she also achieved the time at the British International Disability event in Sheffield which will enable her to compete in the able-bodied national championships this summer.
“I managed to get three A standard qualifying times for the Worlds, two British records and at last I got that 50m freestyle able-bodied national qualifying time so I can compete with the rest of my squad in the summer,” said Jess. “Montreal isn’t far away and there are lots of things I can work on.
“My coach is already putting session plans together to help me improve. I also have youth nationals and this weekend I will be in Luton for regionals. My coach Alex and I are also going to the Queen’s garden party and I’m also the ambassador for the Norwich City Sports Foundation so I am hoping to pop in and support them before I go.”
