Once again members of Gorleston Golf Club enjoyed playing their competitions in fine weather.
The men’s section played for the Three Score and Ten competition, which is an annual 10 hole event for those who have reached the age of 70 or over.
Taking part for the first time Jim Woodhouse posted the winning score of nett 34.67.
The ladies’ section played the Australian Spoon’s Qualifier which is a foursomes competition organised by England Golf. This year the victorious pairing of lady captain Vonnie Thornton and Vickie Peake scored 35 points from Maureen Dark and Rosemary Hodgkin with 34 points. The winning pair will go on to the regional final at Billericay.
The ladies had a friendly home match against Barnham Broom and recorded an excellent 3-1 win. The men’s Famous Grouse Foursomes was won by father and son Colin and Chris Beare which a nett 70.
