K9 kickboxer Jade scores revenge win at Ocean Room
K9 kickboxing gym team fighters were in blistering form at the Ocean Room winning seven bouts, drawing two and losing only two, one of which was very controversial.
World full contact schoolgirl champion and former ABA schoolgirl national boxing champion Jade Munro (15) was back to her best, beating British Open Muay Thai champion Hannah Turner by third round stoppage after dominating the bout with her powerful punching and low kicks.
It was a great result for Jade as Turner is the only person ever to beat her in a Muay Thai fight, Jade’s dominant display also earned her the junior fighter of the day trophy.
National champion Nicky McHugh (11) beat Ipswich’s hard-punching Tommy Purdy for the South East Area -35 kilos title with a great display. His body kicks controlled the five round fight from start to finish. 2011 world junior champion Travis Manning (13) won the south east area -40 kilos title by beating Ipswich’s tough Jack Purdy winning four of the five rounds with his slick jabbing and fast kicks.
National champion Carlos Regini-Moran (12), had a great scrap with Newark’s Thomas Rawlinson winning on points.
Another of the club’s amazingly successful squad of junior champions, Remy Sayer (11) beat Reflex Gym’s Lennox Cornet on points.
Jake Docwra (11), having his first bout, was up against it taking on Reflex Gym’s Kyle Flowers who was having his 7th bout.

Docwra showed good skill and footwork and landed the cleaner punches and kicks to get the decision – a superb debut win for Jake.
Imogen Casey (13) was in fine form getting revenge against previous opponent Lucy Callan (Newark) who had beaten her six months ago.
Imogen dictated the fight from start to finish with her fast punch combinations.
Luca McComb (10) was winning his Muay Thai bout with Kettering’s Baily Cooper for two and-a-half rounds but hurt his knee in the 3rd and got a standing count. The bout ended up being a draw but it was a great performance from Luca fighting one of the best Junior Thai fighters in the Country.
Liam Plant after a two year lay-off looked ring rusty and probably out of his weight division against Kettering’s Linas Vascouvious.
Plant won the first round with his superior kneeing but Linas’s better punching levelled up the bout and the judges awarded it a draw.
The gym’s only two losses were close, with Hadley Neller getting edged out by Team GBH’s Kai Smart.
Neller fought very well but Smart landed slightly more clean punches and deserved the win in this cracking little White Collar bout.
Little Chaney Docwra (7) looked very unlucky not to get the decision in his rematch with Newark’s Harley Price.
Docwra lost the first round with a slow start but looked to have won the second and third rounds with his lovely straight shots, but the bout was awarded to Price.
Katey Plummer (15) had a boxing skills bout with Shannon Graham (17) from NMA and did well.
Tia Sayer, who was meant to take on Alana Thompson for the Eastern Counties title, boxed an exhibition with Newark’s Josie Callan when Alana pulled out at less than a days notice.
It was a great day once again for the K9 team.
Other clubs results from the show saw Gavin Baily (GBH) beat Yanis Laksevaras (Newark) on points (White Collar). Gavin showed great heart to survive a knockdown and get up to win.
Mikey Lindsey (Newark) beat Jahmal Mills (GBH) on points (White Collar). Jahmal put on a great show but lost narrowly to a more experienced lad.
Gavin Buckland (Coventry) beat Aurelijus (Noguiera) on points (K1).
Mitchell Scarlett (Coventry) beat Vitali (Noguiera) on points (K1.)
Darius Paulauskas (Newark) beat Gintarias (Noguiera) by TKO (K1).Gintarias was having his first bout against a more experienced opponent and performed excellently.
