K9 Fight Team’s professional martial artist Jemma Thomas travelled to The Irish Centre in London for a boxing bout with local favourite from the LWC London Gym, Andrea Garner.

Garner was a big favourite to win, especially with her having a seven kilo weight advantage.

But Thomas, trained by John Hutchins and Dave Munro, is used to being the underdog away from home and settled into the bout nicely using her trademark right hand counters to good effect and landing sharp left hooks throughout the bout. She comfortably won every round of a tough bout and got a unanimous decision from the judges.

Jemma trains every day in Boxing Judo and Muay Thai. She will be in action again in Kent next month.

Stand-up training with the K9 fight team is at Legends Fitness Academy, Steam Mill Lane, Great Yarmouth on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
