THE Phoenix Karate After School Club was set up at Woodlands Primary School in September 2008 to enable the pupils at the school to learn the discipline.
Karate is one of the many after school activities that take place as part of the school's extensive enrichment programme.
The club proved very popular with the students, who have mostly been from Years 3 and 4.
Pupils have enjoyed the physical training aspect as well as the discipline involved with martial arts.
The group worked hard for their first grading with eight children achieving their yellow belt.
Anyone interested in training with the Phoenix Karate Club, which holds sessions at a variety of venues, can contact Charlie on 07895 550168 for details.
