England karate squad hopeful Sophie Stephenson of Gorleston.

WHILE others tuck into Easter eggs on Sunday, Sophie Stephenson, 13, from Gorleston will be travelling to Yorkshire, to start the first stage of fulfilling a dream to compete for the national karate squad, when she trains with the England squad in a closed session under national coach Wayne Otto.

Sophie's instructors Charlie and Vivianne Trore,y from the Phoenix Karate Schools, were thrilled for Sophie.

Charlie said to be selected to attend a closed session was an extreme honour. Sophie was noticed while fighting at the EKF's recent championships.
