Students from Winners Fight Club and the Chinto Karate Group took part in the Norfolk all styles open championships in Cromer.

Ali Watson was first in the kata, second in the kumite and third in the continuous kumite.

Jodi Stephenson was first in the continuous kumite and second in normal kumite. Ollie Stephenson excelled himself on the mat for second place. Newcomer to competition Jack Trueman was third in kata against older and bigger opponents. Luke Ames earned a place in the semi-finals, and finished third. Dominika Szoma, against older boys in her section, took second place.

Daniella Stephenson in her kata section won a second place. Harry Cohen's hard work at Winners Fight Club paid off when he came third in his kumite section. Louie Bateman gave a strong performance of the kata seiryu and after learning this kata three weeks ago won the first-place trophy.

Will Trueman, a first-time competitor, won his first fight hands down but was later on conceded by fellow club member Luke Ames.

Jack Kelsey also performed really well but was also defeated by another club member. Ayo Bile was also unfortunate to be drawn against Luke but put up a really brave performance.

Senior instructor of both clubs Tracy Pillar (4th Dan) said she was really pleased with the team spirit, performance and outcome on the day.
