Over the last two weekends at Thetford a team of 44 swimmers from Great Yarmouth took part in the Norfolk County Age Group and Championship Gala, and had 29 swimmers gaining places in the finals.

The star of the gala was Isaac Kirby who finished with 18 first places, six seconds and four thirds, creating 11 new county records on the way.

Due to Swimming at the Olympic trials Jack Utting attended the second weekend only and came home with six firsts, three seconds and two thirds, setting new records in four events. Billy Heseltine had a good week with two seconds and two fourth places. Scott Ribbons in his first county gala had a second and two thirds, Oliver Postle in the older age groups did well to get two third and fourth places. Fourth places also came from Tommy Chandler, Daniel Henderson and Oliver Tedstone. Other finalists were Jack Collins, Alexander Goff, Declan Scott, Tom Smith, Harry Grice, Sam Skuse and Joseph Windsor Freeman.

For the girls Atlanta Jarvis was on top form with three first places, two seconds, one fourth and a new record in the 50m Breaststroke, Jenna Utting also got amongst the places with two firsts, a second, two thirds and two fourths, Charlie Smith continues to stay amongst the best girl swimmers with a second, three thirds and two fourths. Melina Burwood had an exhausting swim in the 200m Fly but hung on to take second place, she also had third and fourth places.

Honey Harvey finished with a third and three fourths and Jenna Martin had a third and a fourth. Other fourth places came from Ellie Holden, Kelly Pyewell, and Grace Leech. Also in race finals were Lauren James, Laura Loveland, Emma Gordon and Hannah Ingham. In the Norfolk County Relay Gala, Great Yarmouth finished fourth.
