Norfolk Ladies County Golf Association has introduced a new knockout competition for 2017.
Affiliated clubs can enter a team of four ladies and the competition format is fourball better ball matchplay, based on the Myhill scoring system.
In the first round Great Yarmouth and Caister Golf Club recently played host to Norfolk rivals Hunstanton.
Both teams were used to playing in the cold, windy conditions they experienced on the day, so it made for a close contest.
Great Yarmouth and Caister eventually used the home advantage to win by seven holes.
Congratulations go to the winning team consisting of Glenda Winn and Deirdre Knowles who managed to win by five holes and to Sue Allen and Carol Delf who won by two holes.
The ladies will now have to wait to see whether they have drawn Royal Norwich GC or Fakenham GC in the second round of the competition.
