Joan Bayfield, Jean Moore and Anne Seddon, after donating the first two ends, took charge. At 19-9 on the 16th, they ruthlessly accumulated six shots on the next and two on the last for 27-9.

Betty Burgess, Vi Harvey and Shirley Lloyd were in similar mood, holding 20-5 by the 13th. Five shots against them on the 15th left them undeterred and three on the last gave them 26-11.

The third rink, Dahlia MacDonald, Anne Baker and Sheila Goffin, were overtaken by their opponents' seven shot 10th end, but they caught up, and from equal scores on the 17th, they lost by just one shot, 15-16.

Against Acle in the same league, Bradwell took one point, although play on all three rinks was close and exciting.

Dahlia Macdonald, Jean Moore and Shirley Lloyd, snatching two on each of the last two ends, finished 15-14. Other scores were 15-18 and 13-17.

In the Lowestoft and District League, Bradwell bowlers gained six points from their match against Kessingland.

Stan Hopwood, George Coxsey and Mick Marshall ran away with their game 22-8. Ray Norton, Frank Hatton and Thelma Bradnum, even conceding one shot on the last, recorded 17-6. Terry Gallant, Anne Baker and John Sargent opened their scoring on the fifth, weathered five shots against them on the 11th and finished 16-13. Tom Hall, Sheila Goffin and Dahlia Macdonald stuck on the seventh end but caught up in the latter part of their game for 11-12.

The match against Lowestoft Railway in the Sunshine League saw very disparate results, which included a drawn game for Rita Ellis, Stan Hopwood and Sheila Bean, 14 all.

Results of three matches in the Lothingland League showed a victory for Bradwell over Hopton.

Anne Baker, Joy Williams and Hugh Clifton rolled over their opposition with consistent scoring and, although they lost the last two ends, their card showed a valuable 23-12. Not far behind were Wally Bean, Keith Briggs and Dahlia Macdonald, who advanced, checked only occasionally, to 20-16. Ray Norton, Keith Cooke and Terry Payne stayed clearly ahead until the last two ends, when the Hopton block closed the scoring gap to 20-17.

Against Northgate, Bradwell had one superb win earned by Tom Hall, Ivan Rudge and Eddie Macdonald. They progressed smoothly to 31-12. Other scores were 18-25, a courageous 16-19 and 12-30.

Bradwell secured one drawn game, 15 all, against Gorleston Conservatives. This valuable result was the work of Keith Baker, Michael O'Keefe and John Ward.
