PAUL Lambert believes Norwich City's new-found confidence can see them continue on the front foot against Walsall at Carrow Road tomorrow.

The Canaries take on the Saddlers (3pm) looking for their third League One win in as many matches and on the back of two consecutive clean sheets, against Hartlepool United last weekend and in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy win over Brentford on Tuesday night.

Contrast that with City's weekend opponents and they will be eyeing another three-point haul. Walsall have not tasted victory since the opening day of the season, and continue to struggle for form and goals - summed up by their 0-0 draw and subsequent exit on penalties to League Two Bury in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday night.

Walsall are also set to be without three key players for the trip to Carrow Road, including goalkeeper Clayton Ince and captain Mark Hughes, but Lambert is still expecting a tough encounter from the Midlands side. He said: "Walsall will be a tough game. I know Chris Hutchings from last year and he's done really, really well there.

"It will be a tough game, but the good thing for us is we are on the front foot at the minute and the crowd is galvanised and getting right on our side.

"So that will hopefully bring something for us and we'll try and give them something back.

"We're on the front foot, that's for sure. That was the important thing when we came in. People were wondering what was happening, the manager goes and the club is up and down, and then a few wins and the crowd can galvanise the players and vice-versa.

"And as I said when I came here, if we can get the players and the fans together as a force, it's a terrific place to play football."

After a quiet transfer deadline day passed on Tuesday, it seems unlikely Lambert will change the starting eleven that won at Victoria Park last Saturday, meaning Fraser Forster could be set to continue in goal despite Ben Alnwick's competent return to action against the Bees.

Darel Russell may have earned a place on the bench for the first time in the league this season after a hard-working performance in midweek, while Chris Martin is pushing for inclusion following his well-taken winner on Tuesday.

Wes Hoolahan and Gary Doherty look set to miss out again, while Matthew Gill (knee) and Owain Tudur Jones (calf) remain on the treatment table.
