Lowestoft & Yarmouth Rugby Club are searching for a new head coach for next season following the decision by current player/coach Scott Nelson to step aside following five successful years in the hot-seat. Scott had been a player with L&Y before moving on to North Walsham then Carlisle before returning as player/coach in 2008 when L&Y were in crisis at the bottom of Eastern Counties One. Only a league reshuffle prevented their demotion that year, and since then Scott has taken the East Coast side into the London leagues by 2009, on to the semi-finals of the RFU National Vase, then up to their current level in London 2 North East in 2011, thoroughly rebuilding the side along the way. Now he is considering a career offshore and believes it is time for someone else to take on the mantle. The role envisaged is a part-time paid post and the applicant will need to be at least Level 2 qualified with applications invited by Tuesday, March 26.
