BLUNDESTON visited Sprowston and were asked to bat. Nick Mobbs and Lewis Chapman opened and it has not been too often that Mobbs has been outscored by his partner, but he was bowled for four.

Skipper Graeme Talbot joined Chapman and built a good partnership of 88 before Talbot was bowled by Lake for 42. Martin added three in a partnership of 40 as Champan reached his maiden century with a six over long-on.

Elliot Gooch joined Chapman for the last 10 overs and added 71 in no time as the score passed 200 for the first time this season. Lewis was finally out in the 43rd over for a superb 134, but Elliot (48no) and Dominic (7no) saw the score to 260-4.

Sprowston started brightly, but a couple of quick wickets for Elliot saw them pegged back early on.

Dominic removed Hampson for 26, before Martin removed three of the middle order in a 3-20 spell. Hall (27) and Corcoran (43) then steadied Sprowston and looked in good shape until Nick (2-23) came on and removed both. The innings was finally ended in the 43rd over for a total of 176.

Harry made a superb debut behind the stumps, but man of the match honours go to 18-year-old Lewis Chapman for a cracking display and a new personal best of 134.

The team is at home to new league leaders Colney this week, 2pm start.

Visitors Hardingham B elected to bat and J Howard (31) and J Rant (31) scored freely until J Mobbs (1-45) broke through.
