Martham kicked off their Norfolk Junior Cup campaign at the Coronation Ground with a convincing 4-0 win against Yelverton Reserves.
Martham went ahead after a couple of minutes when Sam Patterson found his brother Darren who headed home from the corner.
In the second half Yelverton had a few good passages of play but couldn’t find a way past Sam Davis. The return of Alex Sayer off the bench saw him find the back of the net through a crowd of players to make it 2-0.
Martham pressed on and Sam Patterson made a mazy run into the box, drawing the Yelverton defender into a foul resulting in a penalty which Darren Patterson put away for his second. Then some good work from James Hunt resulted in a pinpoint pass for striker Patterson to complete his hat-trick with a good finish.
With their 100pc record still intact next up for Martham is a return to league action at East Harling.
