Martham 2, Beccles Town Reserves 2
With both teams having similar league positions in Anglian Combination Divison Three, the game was always going to be close.
Martham started by testing Beccles with a fluent attacking game, but after five minutes they were caught out with too little cover at the back and Beccles scored from a breakaway.
This seemed to un-nerve Martham and it wasn't until midway through the half when they got their composure back and once again troubled Beccles with some good attacking play. Adam Betts, the Martham left winger who had been given the Beccles right back a torrid time, broke away and crossed into the goalmouth where Rob Southern was there to steer home the equaliser.
Five minutes later Bettsy crossed again and this time Simeon Randell met the cross and put Martham into the lead with a well-taken goal. The score stayed the same for the rest of the half and Martham went into the break just edging the game.
Martham came out after the break going for the win, with David Bradford shooting just wide after a good run. Midway through the second half Beccles equalised. Once again this affected Martham's young side. This time they got back into their rhythm quicker, but it was too late to find the winner.

So the game ended 2-2 all, in retrospect a fair result. A good display by Martham's young side, who hope to carry this on to tomorrow's game at home to Cromer Town Reserves (2pm ko).
