ROLLER SKATING: Stalham Artistic Roller Skating Club’s year got off to a glittering start at the Meridian Open competition. The club were awarded 21 medals.

Elena Dickenson won gold solo dance, inter-bronze and bronze category; Erin Seaman/Celena Woods won gold, duo dance, preliminary and under; Celena Woods won gold, solo dance, non-medallist; Emily Woods won gold, solo dance, elementary and preliminary; Stalham Gems won gold, team dance, elementary and preliminary.

Abbie Lee won silver, solo dance, non-medallist; Elena Dickenson/Kerry Asta Pickering won silver, duo dance, bronze and under.

Tamara Ellison won bronze, solo dance, inter-bronze and bronze; Kerry Asta Pickering won bronze, solo dance, 30 years and above; Emily Woods/Toni Lowe – bronze, duo dance; Stalham Roses won bronze, team dance, non medallist; Stalham Starlites won bronze, team dance, inter-bronze and bronze.

Claire Hardy gained an impressive sixth place for her solo dance (inter-silver and silver).

Sasha Ellison and Yasmin Rivett narrowly missed out on duo medals in the bronze and under category while Sarah Mockford and Abbie Lee took seventh place out of 12 for their duo dance. Sarah also took seventh place for her solo dance (elementary and prelim).

Yasmin Rivett gained fifth place and Sasha Ellison sixth for inter-bronze and bronze solo dance. Erin Seaman and Toni Lowe gained fifth and sixth places respectively for solo dance (non-medallist).

Grades and fun sessions are held every Saturday, 2-4pm and Sunday, 2.30- 4.30pm, in the main sports hall of the Marina Centre, Marine Parade, Great Yarmouth (please check with main reception before attending as sessions are not always held on competition weekends).

Skaters can attend dance sessions by invitation of the coaches once a certain level has been achieved.
