Medals haul for Stalham club

MEDAL WINNERS: Stalham Artistic Roller Skating Club members skated their way to a total of 35 medals at the Tyne Tees Tournament.

Sophie Allen was awarded gold for her OSP with all three judges marking her in first place. Sasha Ellison took gold for free dance (nine years and over).

Skating as Stalham Stars, Elena Dickenson, Tamara Ellison and Kerry Asta Pickering were awarded gold for trio dance, with Elena and Kerry also being awarded gold for their duo dance and Tamara taking bronze for her solo dance.

Kerry was also awarded gold for solo dance (25-44 years) and gold for mature couples with her father and club coach Martin Pickering.

Celena Woods, Sophie Allen and Erin Seaman took all three podium places for solo dance. Erin and Celena were also awarded gold for duo dance with first places from all three judges, while Toni Lowe and Jessica Taylor took a clear second place to take silver. Jessica was also awarded silver for her novelty free dance (non-medallist).

British squad skater Emily Woods took gold for her novelty free dance (non medallist), gold for OSP, bronze for solo dance (elementary and preliminary) bronze for free dance (nine years and over) and bronze for figures (9 years and over).

Emma Sergeant and Sophie Allen took bronze for duo dance (elementary and preliminary). Erin, Celena and Emily took gold for trio dance skating as Stalham Starlites closely followed by Stalham Gems – Rebecca Dixon, Toni and Jessica who were awarded bronze.

Sophie Cunnington, Sophie Allen and Emma Sergeant were awarded silver for trio dance (preliminary and under) under the guise of Stalham Sapphires.

Grades and fun sessions are held every Saturday (2-4pm) and Sunday (2.30-4.30pm) in the main sports hall at the rear of the Marina Centre, Marine Parade, Great Yarmouth (please check with main reception before attending as sessions are not always held on competition weekends). Skaters can attend dance sessions by invitation of the coaches once a certain level has been achieved.
