Yarmouth Athletics Club earned several medals competing for Norfolk County titles at King's Lynn and Norwich. Under 20 men's athlete Josh Aldred put in an excellent 100m run against a strong wind to take the title in 11.

Yarmouth Athletics Club earned several medals competing for Norfolk County titles at King's Lynn and Norwich.

Under 20 men's athlete Josh Aldred put in an excellent 100m run against a strong wind to take the title in 11.8 sec, with Matthew Millman taking third in 12.4.

Jahmal Mills in the same age group ran 23.9 for second place in the 200m and was also second in the long jump with 6.38m. Wesley Attew is slowly returning to form and a 1.70m high jump gave him second place.

Sophie McKinna had little trouble winning the U17 girls shot with a new pb of 11.21m and then added a bronze finishing third in the 100m in 14.5.

In the boys under 17 age group Ben Johnson put in a confident run in the 400m for a bronze medal with a time of 57.9.

James House won bronze in the high jump and long jump with 1.60m and 5.05m. Shane Atherton was very unlucky to miss out on a medal in the 100m finishing fourth in 13.2.

In the under 15 girls age group Catherine Lee running in the 3,000m for the first time took control of the race after a couple of laps and slowly pulled away from the field although Frankie Turner never gave up chasing her which gave her second place in times of 11:39.1 and 12:05.1. Earlier Turner won silver in the 75m hurdles in a good time of 13.6.

Louisa Marshall threw 15.87m in the discus for third place and had a good run in the 100m to reach the final, where she fnishined seventh in a best time of 14.5.

Under 15 boy Keelan Pywell running the 3,000m put in a good personal best run to finish third in 11:08.6.

Mark Phillipson had two good runs in the 100 and 200m taking two silver medals with times of 13.3 and 26.5. Emma Barwick, competing in the women's discus, retained her title from last year throwing 20.91m.

In the U11 age group Patrick Manning had a good run in the 600m for his silver medal recording a best time of 2:07 whilst Amy Dowsett had to battle hard over the last 50m to secure third in the 600m 2:09.6.

On the Monday evening in the relays the under 15 girls team of Amber Burton, Louisa Marshall, Frankie Turner and Kelly Pywell finished second in the 4x200m and third in the 4x100m.

The under 20 team of Jahmal Mills, Matthew Millman, Shane Atherton and Kyle Burton won both the 4x100 and 4x400m relays.

Two Yarmouth athletes competed in the Suffolk County Championships at Ipswich. Katy Barber had her best run in the Under 17 200m. Running into a strong headwind she won the silver medal with a time of 27.8. Chris Peck under 20B also had his best run in the 200m taking the bronze medal in a time of 26.5.
