The East Coast Black Belt School has added four more students to their list of students to gain black belts.The grading, by 8th Dan master instructor Mick Blackwell and chief instructor Steven Webster, was the culmination of three years of training for Jamie King, Lorna Green, Rosie McDonald and William Garrod.

The grading, by 8th Dan master instructor Mick Blackwell and chief instructor Steven Webster, was the culmination of three years of training for Jamie King, Lorna Green, Rosie McDonald and William Garrod.
It brought the total of new black belts in 2009 to 15, marking the end of another successful year for the school, both in terms of the progression of students and in medal success.
In December, Daniel Mallett and Kathy Hall added a further three silver medals to the club's medal tally for the year.
Mallett picked up a silver medal in his kata section, and finished a close second in the junior black belt fighting category, losing to his opponent by only one point.
Hall, a comparatively inexperienced white belt, opted to move up to the intermediate section where she fought well against higher-graded opponents to gain silver.
These final wins took the club's medal tally for 2009 to 17 gold, 23 silver and 22 bronze medals.
With another 15 black belts to its name in 2009, the East Coast Black Belt School is planning to continue from strength to strength in 2010.
East Coast Black Belt School has training sessions around Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft.
