A TRIUMPHANT Stalham Artistic Roller Skating club increased their total medals for 2009 to 132 by bringing home 17 from their final competition of the year, the Medway Cups Competition held at Mote Park in Maidstone.

A TRIUMPHANT Stalham Artistic Roller Skating club increased their total medals for 2009 to 132 by bringing home 17 from their final competition of the year, the Medway Cups Competition held at Mote Park in Maidstone.

The girls all competed in solo, duo and team dances at various levels. For non-medallist solo dance (age nine and under) Yasmin Rivett was awarded gold with first year newcomer Daisy Robinson achieving 11th place in this particularly large group.

Sasha Ellison was awarded gold for non-medallist solo dance (age 10-12) and Emily Woods bronze, followed closely by Tamara Ellison in fourth place and Rebecca Dixon in 11th place.

Sasha and Yasmin returned to the podium to collect gold and silver respectively for second year newcomers solo dance while Kerry-Asta Pickering collected her silver medal for her solo dance (age 25, inter-bronze and over).

Newcomer Sarah Mockford achieved an impressive eighth place out of 18, including one fifth place marking for solo dance (age 12 and under, elementary) while Sarah Ford gained an equally impressive fifth place for youth solo dance (under bronze).

Bronze-standard skater Elena Dickenson was awarded silver for junior solo dance and bronze for duo dance with partner Kerry-Asta (inter bronze and bronze). Elena also achieved good results in the youth solo dance (bronze) with fellow skater Shannon Hudson taking eighth place with one judge marking her in third place.

Dynamic duo Sasha and Tamara took to the podium again to collect gold for duo dance (preliminary and under). Non-medallist team of three, Stalham Starlites (Sasha, Tamara and Yasmin) scored a silver medal while Stalham Roses (Sarah Mockford, Sarah Ford and Emily) took bronze in the preliminary category.

Grades and fun sessions are held every Saturday (2-4pm) and Sunday (2.30-4.30pm) in the main sports hall of the Marina Centre, Marine Parade, Great Yarmouth (please check with main reception before attending as sessions are not always held on competition weekends).

Skaters can attend dance sessions by invitation of the coaches once a certain level has been achieved. Details on the club and events can be found at www.stalham-artistic-rsc.org.
