Visitors to the new website will find the new layout very easy to navigate to find the latest membership offers, junior news and open competitions/events.

An additional feature to the website is the very comprehensive members' area for club news and history, fantastic social events and competition fixtures.

The bumper winning weekend kicked off with the Winter Midweek Stableford's Foolhardy Trophy, won by David Parsons with a record-breaking 213 aggregate, based on his performances throughout the winter.

Secretary/manager, David James achieved a quick-fire hat-trick of Mixed Foursomes wins by capturing the Good Friday Mixed Foursomes, partnered by Lesley Court, with a score of 42 points.

To the delight of playing partner Debbie Jary, three-handicapper, Peter Ogden made a hole-in-one at the 267-yard first hole with the first hit of a new driver.

The day ended with Easter eggs for all the ladies at the club from ladies' captain, Barbara Lewis.

On Easter day, 81 men competed in a Bogey competition for the club's oldest piece of silverware, the Arthur Fell Cup, first played for in 1909. The 101st anniversary saw nine-handicapper Mick Lane triumph with a score of +5.

The fun continued on Easter Monday with the staging of the Guildford Greensome, Stableford pairs' social competition, which produced a medley of winners for the men: Reg Cavender and Lee Crosswell on 41 points.

For the ladies, Myra Lane and Penny Platten on 37 points, and in the mixed David Dye and Debbie Jary with 42 points.

The Easter weekend resulted in a return to top form for Terry Norman at Great Yarmouth & Caister Golf Club who showed the younger members just how quality golf should be played.

In the Penn Medal and Lucas Cup held on Sunday he returned a magnificent level par 71 to share the winner's spot with head greenkeeper Simon Clark who also posted a level par score, playing off scratch.

In addition, Terry's nett score of 66 was good enough to pip Graham Doggett (10) on countback and young gun Alex Fellas (6) with a nett 69, to secure the Lucas Cup and a handicap reduction back to four.

The Sunday competition followed his second place in the Artisans Cup Foursomes Medal with partner Bob Clark on Good Friday.

This event was won by reigning holders Kevin Twose and Timmy Barber with a score of 70.5, one shot ahead of Terry and Bob, with Steve Basey and Pete Furlong in third place with a 73.

Terry now heads off to Woodhall Spa to take part in the Central England Foursomes and then on to West Hill to partner son Charles in the annual West Hill Father and Son's Tournament.

The next competition at Caister will be the Grant Memorial on Saturday. The course is exceptionally good condition and the club always offers visitors a warm, friendly welcome.

Thirty-five players competed in the London Pride Winter Warmer Stableford competition at Caldecott Hall Golf Club on Sunday.

The event was won by Mike O'Brien with 41 points, Julian Peak was second with 39, John Banham third with 37 and Roger Rice fourth with 35.

Nearest the pin prizes went to Julian Peak on the fourth, Mark Chilvers (8), Robert Shropshire (12) and Peter Aldis on 17.

A cash pot for players scoring a gross two on any hole was shared between Mark Chilvers, Julian Peak and Dave Kent.

Club captain Brian Brister thanked everyone for taking part and said that as a result of the competition his captains' charity had increased by a further �39.

He also paid tribute to Fusion Hair Consultants of Gorleston for their sponsorship.
