NOT one of the home sides registered a win last weekend.

Catfield entertained West Lynn SSC in their Norfolk Junior Cup replay for a place at Carrow Road and lost to the only goal of the tie.

The Cats started the brighter with a couple of good runs by Rosati which on one occasion put Pillar one-on-one with the keeper but it came to nothing. Towards the end of the first half Catfield claimed a penalty when Paul Thompson flicked past the last defender and appeared to be taken down when in on goal, but the referee waved away the protests.

In the second half the deciding moment came when George was adjudged by the referee to have pulled the collar of the West Lynn player in the box and the referee gave the decisive penalty.

The Cats had a couple chances towards the end before Pillar was dismissed in stoppage time.

Catfield but can be proud of their efforts but must now focus on the remaining silverware on offer.

The league had its first semi-final of the season, in the Burgess Cup. Despite going one down after a minute from a Gino Hynes goal for Yarmouth United, Caister United - after a torrid first half of the season - have now booked a cup final place with a fine 5-2 win. They will face either Prostar Windows or Bohemians in the final on Wednesday, April 14, at 7.30pm at the Wellsley.

Yarmouth United can bounce back this week as they face first division Tramway in the Percy Nockolds Trophy.

MK United stretched their lead in Division One with an emphatic 6-1 win at Albion FC who must improve this week as the two teams face off in the Wiltshire Cup semi-finals.

Hemsby Reserves moved away from the drop zonewith a good 2-1 win at GY International, who are now in the drop zone. Lacon Arms won a thriller 5-4 against Tramways and can still mount a title charge with games in hand. This week they face Catfield in the Wiltshire Cup for a place in the second semi-final next week against Reedham.

Shrublands, led by Adi Sharman, had a good 4-1 win against GY Peelers at Lynn Grove.

In Division Two, Bohemians could only draw 1-1 with South Yarmouth at Belton. Many thanks to both teams, the referee and Peter Cooke for getting the game played.

Norfolk and Chance gained ground with a 2-1 win at Feathers although they did have to clear twice off the line from Leon Rouse of Feathers.

Gorleston Wanderers gained their first win of the season in a 6-2 win at MK United Reserves. All six goals were scored by the Gorleston striker. They look to get off the bottom of the division with a win against Martham this week.

Prostar Windows bounced back with a 3-2 win at Carpathians.
