UNITED failed to get the better of a Crabs outfit reduced to 10 men after 20 minutes of their Dolphin Autos Anglian Combination Premier Division match on a superb pitch.
Both teams were knocking the ball about probing for an opening when the game changed with a Cromer player was sent off, supposedly for swearing at the ref.
Acle got slightly on top for the rest of the half but didn't create many chances, including a good one just before half-time.
Within 15 minutes of the second half Cromer caught Acle cold with two quick, well-taken goals. Acle were then given a lifeline with a penalty, a harsh decision.
Acle pressed hard for a leveller, but missed
chances and some good,
solid defending from Cromer kept them out.
Cromer, after going down to 10 men, worked their socks off.
Tomorrow, Acle visit Beccles Town.
