Falcons found themselves two goals behind to Kirkley and Pakefield Hurricanes as the Hurricanes, just like the week before started the match on the attack and scored two good goals and looked like adding more before a Falcons breakaway just before half-time saw them cut the deficit.

Then Rangers went on all-out attack. Eventually Falcons broke through and they scored two quick goals.

The match swayed in favour of both teams with both producing excellent football.

With the Hurricanes seeking an equaliser the inevitable gaps were left at the back and a last-minute goal secured a victory for the Falcons who will go on to meet the Royals, also of Kirkley and Pakefield, in the final.

They won their semi-final with an impressive away win at the Cougars of Waveney.

Gorleston Rangers Eagles under-nines will also face the same opposition as they will meet the U9 Royals team of Kirkley and Pakefield after a hard-fought semi-final win over Martham.

The U7s and U8s enjoyed their first competitive matches of the season as their trophy event started. There will also be a plate competition for both age groups for all teams who lose in the first and second round.

Gorleston FC U13s maintained their three-point lead the top of U13 Division One after a 4-0 home win over the Comets of Kirkley and Pakefield.

Second-placed AC Mill Lane suffered a 3-1 defeat to the Predators of Mutford and Wrentham, allowing both Harleston, after a home win over the Wildcats of Kirkley and Pakefield, and Gorleston Rangers Eagles to close the gap to just two points after their win over the Vikings also of Kirkley and Pakefield.

Division Two leaders Gorleston Rangers Ospreys saw their lead at the top cut to four points as they lost 2-0 at the Wasps of Beccles Town, giving Loddon Grasshoppers the chance to attack their lead at the top after defeating Acle Rangers.

Right on their tail is Harleston who returned with the points at the Jaguars of Waveney.

Division Three leaders Waveney Tigers showed no signs of letting their six-point lead slip as they returned home 6-1 winners at Hemsby Hornets.

Chasing Martham refuse to give up and returned home with an away win at Freethorpe.

In the only other league match played in the division Great Yarmouth secured three points in a 5-2 home win over Bungay Town.

The under-10 Premiership Futsal started on Sunday with the first 21 of 42 fixtures to be played over two weeks.

Currently leaders are Hornets of Beccles Town, but that can change as Caister Roma are just one victory behind and a better start for both Freethorpe and Falcons of Gorleston Rangers will see them back in contention for the title.
