Norfolk County FA are investigating reports of a mass brawl which caused a Yarmouth and District Sunday League match to be abandoned at the weekend.

Violence involving players from both sides erupted in the Division Two match between AC Mill Lane and bottom-of-the-table Seajacks at Mill Lane, Bradwell. Witnessess included players from other games on nearby pitches and the trouble was said to have continued for several minutes before the match was abandoned.

Norfolk FA disciplinary chief Matt Carpenter said he became aware on Sunday afternoon of an incident.

Ths week investigations were continuing as the FA endeavoured to get to the bottom of the matter.

“I am aware and we are investigating in line with our normal procedures. We have had reports in from the match officials and are investigating.

“We need to be as thorough as we can before deciding what action to take,” said Carpenter.Seajacks and AC Mill Lane were scheduled to meet again at the same ground on Sunday... in the Knockout Plate!
