Cup football again took centre stage in the Norfolk and Suffolk Youth League last weekend.

There were semi-finals at under-9, under-10 and under-11 level while many of the under-7 and under-8 teams played cup football for the first time this season.

Kirkley and Pakefield Royals booked their place in the under-11 final in a tremendous encounter with Brooke Juniors in front of a big crowd. Thomas W, Thomas R, Louis, Harry, Bailey and Kane all found the net as the Royals made progress.

They will Kirkley and Pakefield Knights in the final as they overcome the Harriers of Gorleston Rangers who had Brodie on target.

Acle Youth will meet Ormesby Lads in what should be a cracking under-10 final in April. Nine goals were scored in the Halesworth semi-final against Ormesby Lads which works out to a goal almost every five minutes with Logan, Liam, Harry, Sonny, Aaron and Alexander on target.

Oliver was on target for the Cheetahs of Waveney but it was not enough as goals from Callum, George, Sammy, Tyler, Keiran and Travis saw the Hornets of Beccles Town book their place in the under-9 final. They will have to wait to see who they are playing as the Gorleston Tornados and Kirkley and Pakefield Dukes fixture was a victim of pitch problems.

There were almost 50 different goal scorers in the under-8 trophy matches. Oscar from Great Yarmouth found the net four times while the Hurricanes of Gorleston FC had Ryley, Henry, Lucas, James and Elliott on target.

Coen, Teddie, Jack, Mason, Dexter, Jude and Fraser scored for the Royals of Kirkley and Pakefield as did Charlie and Isaac for the Hornets of Beccles Town. Bungay Town had Archie, Oliver, Charlie and Callum scoring the goals, while on target for the Kings of Kirkley and Pakefield were Archie, Adam, Toby, Allan and Max. Taylor found the net three times for the Cowboys of Burnt Hill and Bailey and John scored for Beccles Town Bees.

Jan and Olivia netted for Gorleston Rangers Kestrels while Riley, Ronnie, Harvey, Henlee and Casey all found the net for the Bloaters of Great Yarmouth Town. The Tigers and the Thundercats of Waveney were both in goal scoring form thanks to strikes from Oscar, Jenson, Charlie, Ruben, Nathaniel, Roman, Louie, Harvey, Samuel, Logan, Joel and Josh.
