The finals of the Great Yarmouth July Triples were played on the Britannia bowling greens on Sunday.
The final was between last year’s winners J Leslie, K Brooks and C Wells from Norfolk Bowling Club in Norwich and B Scarle, J Merrison and K Staff from Long Stratton Bowls Club.
The 14-end final was close in the early stages, with the score at five ends level at five shots each. A count of four shots on the seventh end put the Wells triple 7-4 ahead before the Staff triple scored two singles to trail 7-6 after nine ends. The Wells triple then scored on the next five ends to run out winners 14-6.
The annual Great Yarmouth Festival of Bowls starts on Sunday, August 27.
A full programme of league fixtures has now been completed in readiness for the forthcoming winter season at Browston Hall, with an earlier start date of September 5.
