East Norfolk School Sports Partnership took at team of Year 7 rugby players to the County Development Tournament at Watton Rugby Club. The team consisted of players from Cliff Park, Oriel and Caister high schools. They had been selected following the recent Partnership tournament involving those schools.

The aim of the tournament was to develop the skills of players new to the game of rugby. The other teams that attended were from west Norfolk, south Norfolk and west Norwich and Dereham.

The weather was horrendous all day with constant rain and wind creating difficult conditions, but the boys gelled as a team very quickly and soon got into their stride. There were some close matches during the day, but the boys battled through and ended up with a comfortable victory over the south Norfolk team.

The team captain Ryan Martins received the trophy from the head coach at Watton RFC.

It was an excellent day despite the cold and wet and huge thanks went go to the Norfolk competition managers Alex Bond and Nick Clarke for organising the day and Penny Chapman, Norfolk's Rugby Community coach.
