Perryman and Notley make amazing start to winter series
Yarmouth and Caister GC
The first of the winter series of amateur open competitions was won by a pairing from the home club. Dan Perryman and Richard Notley shot an amazing 45 points to win by two points from Terry Norman and Graham Carmen.
This first event attracted 16 pairs of golfers from all over the county. Leading scores were 1st Dan and Richard; 2nd Terry and Graham; 3rd Josh Brooks and Jason Dent (39 points). The Pro Am event was won by Ian Ellis and Mark Rumble.
The winners, fairly new golfers, clicked together to post the creditable score.
The professional prize went to Caroline Brady from Barnham Broom who scored a round of 74. Conditions were tough with a strong breeze blowing from the south west.
Caister’s Winter Pairs organised by the resident professional Gary Potter runs until the spring and is open to all golfer. The next meeting is on Wednesday November 17 with booking and further information from Gary on 01493 720421.
As a venue for winter golf Yarmouth and Caister’s course drains well and the club has a policy of no winter greens or tees.

Potter said: “The course is in exceptional condition and always proves a great test for all standards of golfers.”
