Plain sailing for Windmill in cup

This week saw conditions more suitable to any water based sporting activity than trying to play a game of football, but 11 games still took place and credit should be given to all who participated at any level, with a couple of surprising results.
In the Norfolk County Senior Cup Windmill played host to Spixworth and surfed themselves to a resounding 12-1 victory on the Beaconsfield.
Meanwhile in Division One Hemsby achieved their first success of the season after seven straight defeats with a 1-0 victory over Carpathians who replaced Hemsby at the foot of the table. Out at Rollesby, the home team came up with a 4-3 win against Bohemians. In the remaining game on Mill Lane, despite taking a two-goal lead through Connor Alfred and Steven Forsyth against Gorleston Rangers, a young and determined Rangers overcame the deficit to win 5-3 against Gorleston Albion, with Robert Leggett scoring Albion’s third.
In Division Two and Three it was league cup week, with this competition being on a group basis this was the first round of games. In Division two A C Mill Lane beat Allens Bar 4-2, Windmill reserves scored six with one in reply against Acle Wanderers. Seajacks and Hemsby Athletic shared six goals between them. and division two leaders Tramway came away from Breydon Rangers 3-1 winners.
In the third division league cup Caister recorded the highest score of the day with a 12-1 victory over Blackfrairs with goals from Laim Bartley scoring Five ,Garrett Ward scored a brace. and Gary Fitzgerld, Aaron Robson, Ben Mannall, Paul Rudd and a own goal. GY Galxay beat the wheelwrights 4-3 with scorers being Goodrum, two, Quinn and Smalldridge scoring the winner with the last kick of the game. The Lord Nelson scored four against the Patriots with one in reply.
The League is holding a full club members meeting on December 2nd at Cliff Hotel starting at 1930, all clubs are required to attend.
