PLAYERS are competing to pot some serious prize money with the launch of the Great Yarmouth Open Singles Pool Competition.
The new event, which started this month, will run for 16 qualifying weeks culminating in the grand final on March 20.
The competition is being played at Merlins, Apsley Road every Sunday. Entrants can register on the day by 3.45pm with play starting 4pm.
The qualifying dates are November 14, 21, 28; December 5, 12, 19, January 9, 16, 23, 30; February 6, 13, 20, 27, March 13. The grand final takes place on March 20.
Rounds 16 to 8 and 8 to 4 will be the best of 9 frames. Semi-finals will be the best of 11 frames. The final will be the best of 15 frames.
The winner will receive �1,000, runner up �500, semi-finalists �150 and quarter finalists �50.
