Pool top prize of £1,000 in Sunday final

POOL: The final qualifying round was held at Merlins on Sunday for the Great Yarmouth Open pool singles competition, sponsored by Evolved Media.

This week’s winner was Steve Crosby who beat Jamie Pownall in the final 6-5 to qualify for the grand final on Sunday (March 20), when the last 16 will be playing for the first prize of £1,000.

The runner-up will receive £500, semi-finalists £150 each and the quarter-finalists £50 each.

This week’s results best of nine frames: A Lacey 5, K Towers 4; J Pownall 5, S King 3; K Lee 5, A Beales 1; L Wassell 5, R Sims 1.

Last eight: S Crosby 5, S Bullock 1; K Paler 4, D Glover 5; K Lee 5, l Wassell 4; J Pownall 5, A Lacey 4.

Semi-finals: J Pownall 5, K Lee 4; S Crosby 5, D Glover 3.

Final best of 11 frames: S Crosby 6, J Pownall 5.

This Sunday the final will be played at Merlins, the draw will be at 3.45pm, play will start at 4pm. Presentations will follow the final.
