Yarmouth Sunday League (Cliff Hotel)

All clubs were back to league action last Sunday, with the big game in Division One being last season’s league champions Camden Tavern, against close rivals and runners-up last season Windmill.

The game by all accounts was not a great spectacle, as the weather played its part, as it did with most games last Sunday, but Windmill won’t mind as they came away with all three points in a 2-0 win. Martham hosted Rollesby in a dress rehearsal for their KO cup semi-final, Rollesby looked as though they were on their way to a good win, but a late converted penalty was enough to give Martham a share of the spoils in a 2-2 draw.

El Sol travelled to Acle, and came away with a 4-0 victory to keep up their push at the top. White Sox made it 11 goals in two games as they hit five past Gorleston Albion and on Mill Lane Bohemians and Tramway could not be separated as the final whistle blew, a 2-2 draw the result.

In Division Two the game that caught the eye was Windmill Res against Lichfield Arms, although Lichfield turned in a superb performance to win 4-0, and in doing so inflicted Windmill’s first league defeat of the season. A close game on Mill Lane saw Gorleston Rangers host Hemsby, where the visitors eventually came away with the three points in a 3-2 win. Leisureland put last week’s defeat quickly behind them as they came out all guns blazing in a 7-0 rout of Memphis Belton. Camden Tavern Res turned in a solid display as they managed to run out 8-3 winners over Hemsby Athletic. After last week’s break Breydon Utd found some of their early-season good form to defeat Cliffside 4-2 and Seajacks secured all the points in a 3-1 win over AC MIll Lane.
